| April 29, 2008 | | Check out the new site for this powerful group of important women leaders | As we see the outpouring of support for both a woman and a black man running for president, I am struck by the progress we have made in the United States. So many have been touched by Barack Obama and many are pinning their hopes on Hillary Clinton. In both cases we see signaling of a true change and the turning to a new chapter. Around the world we see change at different cadences. One of the reasons I support and sit on the Harvard Kennedy School Women’s Leadership Board is because I believe we can inspire and empower women and girls to take positions of power. This board now has a new website www.hkswomensleadershipboard.org. Our company developed the site pro bono. Many of you know Nick Cavarra on my staff. He has worked very hard to make this happen along with the WLB staff. Take a look. It will be a resource for research on women in leadership roles around the world. It will also serve as a means to remain informed on upcoming events and important strategic initiatives implemented by the board. You can even use the website to learn more about the wonderful women involved with the board. Please feel free to comment here on any additions or suggestions you have for the site. We value the members input. Our next board meeting is this week. I will offer some insights and observations from the meetings in my next post. | | |
